Ruin near Whyte Yarcowie, SA

This ruin is one of a number in this part of SA. It represents a period of much rain and prosperity followed by endless devastating drought causing many to leave the land. Ironically this photo was taken after much rain. The fields are green, the grass is high and birds are in the air. However, the purple strip lurking in the background is a field of Paterson's Curse. It is as if it mocks any would be farmer seeking to take advantage of the fleeting good times.
