Darwinia biflora

Darwinia biflora - The pink floral tubes are no more than 5mm tall.

This species is classed as rare but actually it is quite plentiful in its native habitat. The thing is that its habitat is just a few square kms in the Ku-ring-gai area north of Sydney.

One would be forgiven for thinking this genus was named after Charles Darwin but it was actually named after his grandfather Erasmus Darwin an amateur Botanist.
