  • Noisy Friarbird - Notice the wart on its nose which gives the Friarbird its name. It appears to be holding an insect in its beak.
  • Noisy Friarbird)
  • Little Friarbird
  • Royal Spoonbills - Spoonbills standing in Monkeygar Creek at the Gibson Way crossing. Unfortunately, this is now one the few places where a casual tourist can get a glimpse of the beauty of the Macquarie Marshes.
  • Chrimson Rosella
  • Crimson Rosella
  • Tawny Frogmouth - on our front pergola
  • Grey-crowned Babbler
  • Grey-crowned Babbler - My guess is that this is a juvenile Grey-crowned Babbler with full plumage yet to develop
  • Grey-crowned Babbler - Enjoying a drink from a bowl lovingly placed under a dripping tap in the camp ground
  • Purple Swamphen
  • Red-rumped Parrots - female & male
  • Eastern Whipbird - Male
  • Spotted Bowerbird - Note the purple patch on its nape
  • Spotted Bowerbird - I threw it a cherry tomato which it picked up immediately. Not sure if it wants the tomato to eat or to decorate its bower.
  • Grey Fantail
  • Willie Wagtail
  • Channel-billed Cuckoo - male
  • White-browed Scrubwren
  • Pied Currawong - Currawong-v-Bug Dog Fight See the bug at about 2 o'clock from the Currawong's eye. While the bird's head is pointed away from the bug, the bird's right eye is fixed firmly on it. The Currawong wins, by the way.
